Smart Waste Management SensorsThe project is focused on environmental protection and sustainable development using Stem technology, robotic and 3D printing. In particular it proposes a solution to the problem of solid waste management and energy saving. The main idea is to build a localized garbage monitoring system consisting of:
1. A system for checking the fullness of garbage bins by programming an arduino board. This mechanism can inform the garbage collection vehicles by sending signals. The purpose is to save energy by reducing unnecessary routes.
2. A special component containing the arduino board, attached to the garbage bin. Students will work together to design this accessory, which will be manufactured using a 3D printer (if available).
3. A renewable energy power system. Students will also propose ways to give power the mechanism using renewable energy.
• To understand the importance of environmental protection.
