2022 European Day of Languages

September 26th traditionally marks the European Day of Languages, also marked by students from the 1st to the 8th grade of the Nikola Tesla Branch School in Moravice under English teacher Davorka Nekić. The 7th and 8th graders participated in the quiz Talk to me!, in which they measured their strengths and showed their knowledge of the language, history, geography, film, and celebrities, after which they were presented with specially designed for recognition and sweet gifts.

The fifth graders' quiz was followed with interest, who collected experiences for the next year, after which they became world travellers and created a commemorative passport of world travellers with their chosen travel destination.

Students of the lower classes participated in a workshop on making paper dolls dressed in folk costumes of selected countries. Also, they learned the names of these countries, traditional food, and what the flags of these countries look like.

2nd grader Aleksandar Soldat embellished the European Day of Languages with the song The Alphabet, for which he earned loud applause from his friends. Then 5th grader Dora Štefančić spiced up The Day with a beautiful recitation of A Different Language. She was also rewarded with applause.

Students attending additional English classes tried their hand at a poetic workshop and, based on the poem Learning a Language by Scottish poet Olivia McMahon, wrote their own repletes with incredible poetic images.

Happy European Day of Languages from the Nikola Tesla Branch School students from Moravice!
