It will make us happy if these pages help you see at least a little bit of what we do every day.
Short history of the Primary School Tordinci
History of education in Tordinci goes way back in 1863 when the first public school was opened. Throughout the turbulent events in 19th and 20th century education in Tordinci experienced many changes. Today's primary school was established July 6 2006 by the decision of the Assembly of Vukovar-srijem county by dividing Primary school Nuštar into Primary school Nuštar and Primary school Tordinci. This included school in Antin as our sattelite school.
School bulding in Tordinci was ceremoniously opened after completion September 6, 2003. The school building in Antin was renovated after the Homeland War and was opened the same year a few weeks later.
The first Day of the school was celebrated May 18 2007 with a special programme and sports competitions. Few days before, Schoolboard elected Antun Maletić as the first headmaster.
Although new the school has actively included in the programme of International Eco-schools in The Republic of Croatia. It cooperates successfully with its founder, local community, businesses and associations in our region.
International eco-school project
Our school is the participant of the International Eco-schools project. We joined this project at the end of 2007./2008. school year and we've had the status of the International Eco-school for 15 years now.
Our goals are to teach our pupils through different activities how to take care of our environment and protect it. We want to raise their awareness of different environmental problems that surround us so that they are capable of recognizing them and help in solving them.
Some of the activities we do are taking care of school garden, learning how to recycle different materials, collecting old paper, EE waste and used batteries. We also teach our pupils to lead a healthy life and to eat healthy.
Erasmus and eTwinning projects
Our school implements projects within the Erasmus+ program. The first KA1 project "Classroom without walls" that we conducted in the school year 2017/18. aimed to improve three areas of work: outdoor learning, project teaching and the use of ICT in teaching. The second KA1 project "Digital School - Global School", which we conducted in the school year 2018/19. placed emphasis on the internationalization and digitalization of the school. The third KA1 project is entitled “Step into Entrepreneurship” and aimed to improve entrepreneurship learning, foreign language learning and international cooperation. Today we can proudly state that we are holders of Erasmus accreditation until 2027. By using accreditation, we want to strengthen the area of artistic creativity of students, lead stronger care for the environment and the implementation of ecological activities in daily work, and finally we want to achieve purposeful digitalization and effective use of new technologies.
The school was awarded the eTwinning School Label for the third time, which we are very proud of. Since 2013, we have implemented more than 100 projects through the eTwinning platform.
Christmas fair for the project Mary's meals
Each year at the end of the first semester we organize Christmas fair in our school. Our pupils craft festive Christmas decorations with their teachers and parents. Every class has its own stand where they offer their products.
All visitors are welcome to give their donations for our products because all the funds we raise during the fair go to a good cause. At the beginning we raised money for UNICEF project "Schools for Africa" and from school year 2013/14 we chose to help the children in the project "Mary's Meals".
Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where children cannot gain education because of poverty and hunger.
