All about me

My name is Mia and I am twelve years old. I live in Pula. I have got a big yellow house. I live with my family.

My favourite day is Friday. I get up at seven o'clock and I have breakfast. Later I go to school. At school I have six lessons. After school I go home and I have lunch. After it I do my homework. When I finish I go to my volleyball training at about 3:30 p.m. When I am at home I have supper at seven p.m. After supper I have a shower. Then I watch TV till eleven. Later I go to bed.

I have got a best friend. Her name is Mia Konović. We have the same name. Mia is eleven years old. Mia lives in a big family house with her family. She has got a mother, a father, a grandma, a grandpa and a sister. My best friend has got a lot of animals. She has got birds, two bunnies and a dog. The dog's name is Grom. Mia isn't fat. She is tall and thin. Mia has got brown eyes and brown hair. We are in the same class. I love her very much!

My dad is a hotel manager. He wears ties and suits. He works in an office. My dad writes emails every day. He never gets dirty at work. My dad has got a lot of employees. He has got an assistant. His name is Frane.

I don't have a favourite season. I love all seasons. In summer I go to the seaside and to Munich. In autumn all leaves are of different coloures. Some leaves are red, some are orange and some are yellow. In winter I go to the mountains. There is a lot of snow every winter. In spring there are a lot of young animals and flowers. I was born on 3rd April 2004. I love to celebrate my birthday with my friends.

A Story of a Dreamer

„Alrighty then!“, as Jim Carrey once said. Let's start, where? Well, hi, what's up? I'm Luciana, but I love when people call me Lucy.

So by the title I am a dreamer, well, day dreamer and night sleeper. Probably the only thing I really enjoy is making people laughing and doing DIY projects, but let's put that on the side. As in every autobiography I have to talk about my life now, in the past and something about my future, but no one knows what will happen tomorrow. For now I am a young fourteen year old girl from Pula.

I live with the most intersting parents in the world. My mom, Zorica, is really optimistic and bright person. She loves to smile and see only the best in people, but she knows when something is not right how to fix it. And there is my dad, Zoran, a hardworking caring father who wants only the best for his little Lucy. I love them both to the Moon and back and they are my best friends for life.

Now let's talk about friends of my age. There are many of them and every one is special in some way: Mihaela for caring and loving, Laura for always making me smile, Ana and her little children's phrases, Arnela with her craziness and every other one. Still they are the most amazing creatures on this planet and I love them just the way they are.

When someone asks me what I like, I think, I could talk for days; giraffes, ice cream, road trips, food, swimming, beaches, torillas and so on. But there are several things I dislike: seeing poor and homeless person or animal nobody is willing to help, seeing someone crying or people who think they are better than everyone else. It just makes me angry. I wish I could help those in need, I wish I could make everybody happy, but I cannot.

I am growing day by day, I am getting bigger, stronger and every day I am trying to figure out how to make this world a better place. I am a helping type of person so next school year I am starting medical high schol and I am really excited because I will be able to make a difference. It is a long was to go and the only thing we can do is to wait.

We are coming to the end. Well I did not talk about my past because it is like everyone else's. You fall and you get up, that is how it is in life. You will fall million more times but you have to get up. Still no one knows what's in that head of yours, so always remember: „Don't forget to dream!“

English and Me

I started learning English in 2008 when I was in the 1st grade. My first teacher is the same teacher I have now. She is nice to me and other pupils, she teaches very well and she sometimes makes jokes and laughs with us.

All of my family speak English and, when I do not understand something, they help me to understand it. I like listening and speaking English because it is interesting. I do not like writing because it is boring and it takes up too much of my time. I would like to go to Scotland because I want to hear English that is different from the English I am used to learning and listening.

When I watch a film in English I listen without reading the subtitles, but when I do not understand a word, I read the subtitles. I like listening to English songs and the latest I like is „Flashlight“ by Jessie J. I do not use Croatian language on the Internet because I prefer English.

I know that Englih is everywhere and I will need it in every job in my future life. I love English so much so that will not be a problem. 

The Life and Death of William Shakespeare

England's most talented and well known poet and dramatist was born on April 23, 1564, at Stratford – upon – Avon, located in the centre od England. William was the third out of eight children whom all died young.

In the 16th century England had a social class system that divided the elite and the lower class clearly. The elite had access to all reputable positions and authorities and all their efforts were aimed at only helping the elite. The lower and middle class families continued being poor. Shakespeare had no chance in becoming popular in such a society. Due to financial affordability, he couldn't continue his education at the university. He studied Greek language, history, comedy, romance, Latin and some other languages. He also had to struggle hard to maintain a normal life and as a child his young mind was severely affected by the poor conditions of his family. William got married at a young age of 18 to a woman three years older than him. The story and events of his life after his marriage are wuite contradictory and it is hard to find ny clear evidence or facts about his family life. The historians quote this as „the lost period of his life“.

William Shakespeare dies on the same date he was born. Shakespeare was not only an excellent playwright but a talented actor and thoughtful poet too. People to this day consider him as one of the best playwrights in English literature. The works of Shakespeare are taught in many universities around the globe. It has been a long time since he passed away but it is impossible to find his match even today. Shakespeare was truly a great artist and the best playwright the world has ever seen.

Last week 8.c class had a projest about the 16th century and it was very interesting. They talked about various things like the Globe theatre, Elizabethan music and fashion,... I enjoyed it a lot.
