Within the school there is a dislocated school unit in Rakitovica. Rakitovica Elementary School was founded in 1835 as Lower Elementary School by the count Gustav Hillleprand, baron Prandau.
Three years later, thanks to the local family and at the expense of municipality, in 1935, the old school building was replaced by the new one which had three classrooms and an apartment for the teacher. In 1950 /1951 the school was attended by 135 pupils. That was the largest registered number ever.
The street in Rakitovica where the School is located, is named after the Venus family whose teaching tradition in this school was half of the century long.
Currently, there are 29 pupils in four classes. The education is organized in two shifts ran by three class teachers and three subject teachers. Mdern school equipment raises the level of the quality of educational process.
